Regional Short-term Training on Antimicrobial Resistance

Tokyo, 14-18 November 2016

 

 

As a part of the activities of OIE Collaborating Centre for Diagnosis and Control of Animal Diseases and Related Veterinary Product Assessment in Asia, National Veterinary Assay Laboratory (NVAL), ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan, organised a First Round Regional Short-term Training on Antimicrobial Resistance, with the support of OIE Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific from 14-18 November 2016.

This training was conducted as a part of the implementation effort to against AMR based on Japan National Action Plan that aligned with WHO Global Action Plan to combat with AMR.  

The objectives of this training are:

1) to understand the AMR countermeasures in the fields of animal health

2) to master fundamental techniques for practical operational procedures in isolating and identifying bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella, and

3) to master fundamental techniques for practical operational procedures in antimicrobial susceptibility testing according to the OIE code.
