Regional Seminar for OIE National Focal Points for Communication

The OIE has launched a global programme of capacity building for OIE Delegates and OIE National Focal Points. The aim of this programme is to provide good governance concepts for improving animal health, animal welfare and food safety of animal origin products at national, regional and international level, and to explain and clarify their role and responsibilities within OIE activities.

In line with this, OIE is organising a Regional Seminar for OIE National Focal Points for Communication in Beijing, China P. R. from 24 to 26 July 2018 in collaboration with and financial support from the Ministry of Agriculture, People's Republic of China and with funding from UK Government Fleming Fund.

This seminar will aim at providing participants with knowledge on the rights, commitments and responsibilities of the OIE National Focal Points in the standard-setting process and compliance with the OIE international standards, particularly with regards to Chapter 3.3 of the Terrestrial Health Code. It will provide the participants with information on the management of national communication systems, in link with OIE standards, and on specific tasks of National Focal Points in this area. This seminar will also allow experience-sharing and discussion between countries in the region and stakeholders.
