Regional Workshop for OIE National Focal Points for Aquatic Animals

As part of the OIE global programme of capacity building for OIE Delegates and OIE National Focal Points,  OIE is organising a Regional Workshop for OIE National Focal Points for Aquatic Animals to be held in Qingdao, China (People's Republic of), from 12 to 14 December 2017. This workshop is organised with funding from the People‚Äôs Republic of China.

This workshop is aimed providing participants with knowledge and working examples that will assist them to better implement OIE standards relevant to aquatic animal health, in particular the importance of aquatic animal disease information, how to use the OIE Aquatic Code and Manual to facilitate safe international trade, how to participate in the OIE standard setting process and the importance of strengthening collaboration and networking among Focal Points in region.

The official Focal Points for Aquatic Animals in the region will be invited in person to participate in the workshop. And it is in fact of paramount importance that, after the workshop, the participants share with the OIE Delegate in their countries and with other relevant national actors and stake holders the knowledge acquired, so to define how to implement OIE standards in their countries and to evaluate any impact on their national legislation.
