Activities on GF-TADs

1st East Asia CVOs Meeting, Tokyo, Japan, 21-22 July 2016

The idea of this meeting was born at the last Coordination meeting on TADs Control held on 24-25 March 2016, in Shanghai, PR China. Collaboration for TADs control in East Asia has been developing in the last decade not only through the OIE/JTF Project on FMD Control in Asia, but also thanks to other bilateral or multilateral collaborative initiatives in East Asia.

The first East Asia CVOs meeting was held back to back with the 9th FAO/OIE RSC meeting of GF-TADs on 21-22nd July in Tokyo, Japan.

At the meeting, CVOs from East Asia shared their own situations, experiences and challenges faced in the control of transboundary animal diseases as well as other important animal health issues.

Possible ways to improve coordination and support each other on technical animal health and veterinary matters in East Asia were discussed. It was decided to continue to improve the sharing of information and resources, coordinate more activities and collaborate on a variety of other technical issues by establishing a Forum for CVOs in East Asia.
