OIE/JTF Project for FMD Control in Asia

First Coordination Committee Meeting of the OIE/JTF Project for FMD Control in Asia, 13-14 November 2012, Tokyo

OIE/JTF Project on FMD Control in Asia was launched in 2011. The Goal of the Project is to strengthen FMD prevention and control in Asia through promoting information sharing on FMD in the region, developing strategies and roadmap for FMD control in East Asia, strengthening capacity of diagnosis, and improving FMD control measures in national and regional levels. The Project targets members in East Asia, including Japan, RO Korea, China, Mongolia, Hong Kong SAR and Chinese Taipei; however, other countries in Asia can participate if appropriate.

The OIE organised the First Coordination Committee Meeting of the OIE/JTF Project on FMD Control in Asia during 13-14 November 2012 in Tokyo. The objectives of this meeting were to exchange information, report the progress, consider newly proposed activities, and most importantly to consider and discuss the Regional FMD Roadmap. The outcome of the National Contact Person (NCP) workshop were also reported and discussed.
